June 2nd reflective Blog

When I think of ways that I have extended my learning network in the past two years, I have extend my network of people that I have face to face interactions with but I have to be honest and admit that I have not really extending my online learning network beyond joining Twitter and I have been apprehensive about extending it further. I am not sure why but I feel as though I never truly felt comfortable in using technology to increase my PLN, and I also felt that social networking through Twitter was useless. After reading and viewing all these articles and blogs in the last few weeks it has made me realize that there is such a wealth of knowledge out there for us as educators. This knowledge is readily available if we want it by making connections with others around the world through the use of the Internet. As educators I believe it is our responsibility to stay connected with others to increase our learning potential and to stay current with the ever changing technology and the different programs that are available. I am going to try to make it my goal to try and extend my learning network in the fall. I have already joined the edu PLN and I am hoping to follow people on twitter as well. Hopefully this will be the beginning of developing my PLN so that I can prepare myself to teach in a networked learning environment.
